Westwood School

The Westwood School achieved Technology status in 2005. As one of only two schools in Coventry with Technology status we are successfully using our status to continue to

  • Raise attainment across all subjects with high quality teaching and learning supported by technology including ICT.
  • Develop our curriculum to provide a range of vocational and traditional courses in science and technology and across all subjects for all ages including adults
  • Develop links with our community including local employers whose businesses use technology, science and engineering

Technology status has had a wide-ranging impact on the education service that we can offer.

Click on the tabs below to reveal how Technology status continues to benefit the school, our students and our community.

Our vision at The Westwood School is that learning should be wholly inclusive. Technology status allows us to provide lifelong learning opportunities for all members of our community throughout the year. As well as our 11-18 curriculum we offer extended schools, summer schools, adult classes, primary and secondary liaison sessions and further training for staff.

We continue to develop strong links with our local primary feeder schools including Limbrick Wood, St Christophers, Cannon Park, Whoberley Hall, Templars, Hearsall, Earlsdon, Allesley Hall, Allesely, Spons Gate and Our Lady of the Assension.

We work with our colleagues in primary schools to deliver learning opportunities which include literacy and numeracy classes, science and technology sessions, transition classes and the primary Olympics.
