Westwood School

Dear Parents.

Thank you for taking the time to look through our new school prospectus. The last year has seen an unprecedented momentum in moving the school forward in terms of recognition of excellence in I.C.T., further improvements in the learning environment, planning for a £12 million refurbishment and rebuild programme and Trust Status with Trinity Expert Systems, The Sports Foundation and the University of Warwick as Trustees of the school.

We are now building further on our educational successes and pupil achievement through our city wide reputation for effective teaching and learning.

However, this prospectus will only give you part of the picture. We are very proud of what we have achieved and would warmly encourage you to visit during our "working day" with your child to see the school at work. Your visit and contents of this prospectus will reveal a school with superb modern facilities located in magnificent surroundings adjacent to the renowned University of Warwick and the flourishingWestwood Business and Science Parks construction of the new leisure centre and swimming pool has now been completed providing outstanding facilities for the school and community.

You will observe excellent teaching and learning taught in small classes and see our students working in an orderly and effective environment. Parents visiting us always comment on the excellent behaviour around the school, 'happy' atmosphere and the visibly good relationships between teachers and students. We are proud of what we have achieved but believe we can be even better with continuing support from parents.

Like you,we want your child to achieve the best so we believe firmly in providing stimulating, encouraging and happy atmosphere with parents, students and local community. As an integral part of that partnership your child will have the opportunity to join Study Clubs, use the Internet Café and to take advantage of the numerous extra-curricular activities offered during breaks and at the end of the day. With your support for both the school and your child we can look forward to achieving the highest academic standards.
