THE WESTWOOD SCHOOL CARNIVAL & OPEN EVENING - Monday 28 June 2010

I would like to invite you to our annual Open Day & Evening. Many parents of Year 5 children have already taken the opportunity to view the school during a normal working day and your comments have been very complimentary. On Monday 28 June I am also inviting you to accompany me on a tour of the school. Tour 1 starts at 9.15am and Tour 2 starts at 11.15am; please telephone the school to be included on either of the tours.

I do hope that you will also be able to join us in the evening from 5.30pm to see displays, speak to staff and experience our unique Carnival Performance – a range of drama, music and art activities in the courtyard. This is an informal opportunity to show your child the school at the end of the day and enjoy the range of curricular and extra-curricular activities offered to all pupils. There will also be a display of our £12 million refurbishment and rebuild in 2011 – your child will gain the full benefit of our creating a 21st Century school. There will be no formal opening ceremony in the evening but my staff and I will be here to answer questions throughout the evening.

At the time of writing this letter our numbers for Year 7 in September 2010 are nearing 100 – we are delighted so many parents are opting to choose The Westwood School and look forward to welcoming you and your child.
