Make Your Mark Competition

Westwood Students took part in the national Make Your Mark Competition entitled ‘Don’t be a Carbon Copy’ during Global Enterprise Week (16-21 Nov).  The brief was to develop an environmentally sustainable solution to a locally inspired problem.  Our group came up with the concept of taking brown field former industrial land throughout the city and turning it into urban farms to be used and managed by the community with an element of collectivisation and self-sufficiency. The Name of the concept was ‘R-eco2’  The team won a place at the West Midlands regional finals held at Ryton Organic Gardens on Tuesday 1 December, but unfortunately were not placed in the top two.

The team consisted of: Lauren Windley, Richard Webb, Lyndon Clews. Yazmin Townsend, Aidan Rainbird-Earley and Eliot Jenkins.

WELL DONE to all involved.
